The Gas Machinery Research Council has issued a call for papers for the Gas Machinery Conference, which runs from Oct. 6 to 9 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Papers related to the operation, maintenance, and testing of gas compression machinery will be considered on the basis of informative abstracts. Preference will be given to papers that involve or are presented by users. Abstracts can be submitted for a short course (3 hours), a technical paper (45 minutes), or a new technology update (10 minutes).

Detailed abstracts must be submitted by March 6. Acceptance notices will be mailed April 24. Draft papers are due July 17 so they can be circulated for peer review and comments. The executive summary is due Aug. 14 and the final paper is due Sept. 11.

Suggested topics include: emission reduction technology; compressor efficiency and performance; engine efficiency, performance, and mechanical reliability; new designs and technology in centrifugal compression machinery; electric motors; vibration and pulsation; federal regulations; automation and control systems; business and technical considerations for developing energy assets; new technology in compression equipment subsystems; technical project management and economic evaluation; and technical applications in gas and electric partnerships.
